Square Enix RPG Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Good news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed Square Enix title, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a temporary removal. This follows a brief delisting that lasted several days, leaving fans eager to purchase the game once again.

The popular tactical RPG, praised for its classic gameplay reminiscent of Fire Emblem, is now readily available for download. The game's return follows Square Enix's recent acquisition of the publishing rights from Nintendo. While no official explanation was given for the initial delisting, this acquisition is the leading fan theory.

This isn't the first time a Square Enix title has experienced a short-lived eShop absence; Octopath Traveler faced a similar situation last year. However, Triangle Strategy's return was significantly quicker, with only a four-day hiatus compared to Octopath Traveler's several-week absence.

The game's reappearance reinforces the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. This collaboration has yielded several Nintendo Switch exclusives, including the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (initially) and the definitive version of Dragon Quest 11. This history of console exclusivity stretches back to the original Final Fantasy on the NES, showcasing a long-standing partnership that continues to this day, with titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
