A two-player card game
This app includes three card games: Four Cards Golf, Six Cards Golf, and Scat. Choose your preferred game in Settings.
Four Cards Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
Similar to real golf, the objective is to score as few points as possible.
Each game consists of nine rounds. At the start of a round, each player receives four face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up in the discard pile.
Before play starts, players may look once at the two cards closest to them in their square layout. These cards must remain hidden from opponents. Players cannot check these cards again unless discarding them during play or scoring them at the end.
On your turn, you may draw a card from the draw pile and use it to replace any of your four layout cards—but you can't look at the card you're replacing. Try to remember its position. Place the replaced card face-up in the discard pile. Alternatively, you can draw from the discard pile and discard it without using it.
If you draw from the discard pile, you must use that card to replace one in your layout, then discard it. You cannot return the drawn card to the pile without making a change.
You may also choose to knock. Once you knock, your turn ends. Play continues normally, but other players cannot knock. The round concludes afterward.
Scoring:
- Pairs of cards (same value) in a row or column score 0 points
- Jokers are worth -2 points
- Kings score 0 points
- Queens and Jacks score 10 points
- All other cards are worth their face value
- Four matching cards score -6 points
Six Cards Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
As in real golf, aim to finish with the fewest points.
Each game includes nine rounds. Players begin with six face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up in the discard pile.
First, each player flips two of their cards face-up. Then, they reduce their card values by swapping for lower-value cards or pairing them in columns with cards of equal rank.
On each turn, draw one card from the draw or discard pile. Swap it for one of your cards or discard it. If you swap with a face-down card, it becomes face-up. Discarding ends your turn. The round ends when all of a player’s cards are face-up.
Scoring:
- Card pairs in a column score 0 points
- Jokers are worth -2 points
- Kings score 0 points
- Queens and Jacks score 20 points
- All other cards are worth their face value
To swap one of your cards with a discard, tap the card. To play from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal a card, then tap the discard pile to discard it or tap one of your cards to swap.
