The Chess Engines application is designed to enhance your chess experience by providing a collection of powerful, open-source chess engines that can be integrated into compatible chess GUI applications on Android devices. This app does not include a graphical user interface of its own and is meant to be used in conjunction with a chess GUI that supports the OEX (Open Exchange) protocol.

Included Chess Engines

Our application bundles the following native executables for seamless integration:

  • Stockfish 17: The latest iteration of the renowned Stockfish engine, known for its exceptional performance and strategic depth. Learn more at Stockfish 17.

  • Stockfish 16.1: A slightly older but still highly effective version of Stockfish, offering robust analysis capabilities. Details available at Stockfish 16.1.

  • Clover 7.0: An innovative engine that brings unique analysis to your chess games. Explore more at Clover 7.0.

Recommended Chess GUIs

To fully leverage these engines, we recommend using the following chess GUIs:

  • Analyze your Chess (free): A user-friendly interface that allows you to analyze your games with ease. Available on Google Play.

  • Analyze your Chess Pro (paid): Offers advanced features for a more in-depth analysis of your chess strategies. Find it on Google Play.

How to Use

To integrate these engines with the recommended GUIs, follow these steps:

  1. Open your chess GUI application.
  2. Navigate to the Engine Management Screen.
  3. Access the Overflow Menu.
  4. Select Install Open Exchange Engine.
  5. Choose the desired chess engine(s) from the list provided by our application for installation.
