Chinese Pooping (Boerenbridge) Card Game Overview
Objective: The main goal of Chinese Pooping, also known as Boerenbridge, is to accurately predict and achieve the number of "strokes" (tricks) you can win in each game round.
Game Setup:
- The game starts with the dealer distributing cards to each player. The number of cards dealt increases each round, starting from one card per player in the first round, two in the second, and so on, up to a maximum based on the number of players. For example, with five players, the maximum number of cards dealt per player is 10.
- After reaching the maximum, the number of cards dealt decreases back to one card per player in the final round.
Gameplay:
Bidding:
- Each player, starting from the left of the dealer, predicts how many strokes they expect to win in the current round.
- The highest bidder gets to choose the trump suit for the round.
- The dealer, who bids last, must ensure that the total number of strokes bid by all players does not equal the total number of cards dealt in that round. For instance, if 7 cards are dealt to each player, and the bids are 0, 3, and 2, the dealer cannot bid 2 (as 0 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 7).
Playing the Round:
- Players take turns playing cards, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
- The player who wins a stroke leads the next one.
Scoring:
- Points are awarded based on how accurately players achieve their predicted number of strokes. The exact scoring system can vary, but generally, players score points for meeting their bids and may lose points for failing to meet them.
Game End:
- The game concludes after the final round, where each player is dealt one card.
- The player with the highest total points at the end of all rounds wins the game.
