Application Description

This radio app provides simple, straightforward control of your USB DAB+ receiver (not SDR) directly from your car head unit. Enjoy a clean slideshow interface. Station logos are not currently supported. No internet connection is required.

Important Note: This app requires a compatible USB DAB+ receiver with one of the device IDs listed below. It will not function without a supported receiver.

New Features in Version 1.1.6 (Oct 12, 2024):

  • Save currently displayed information text to a file (appending to existing files), allowing for sharing or export.

Existing Features:

  • Customize the info text color by touching and holding the info text area.
  • Experimental steering wheel button support (see below):
    • Skip Next = Next Station
    • Skip Previous = Previous Station
    • Play = Cycle through station filters ("All," "Selected Program Type," "Favorites")

This app is not intended to compete with the excellent "DAB-Z" app. It's designed for users who prefer a simpler interface with larger, more easily accessible controls, especially beneficial for those with less precise touchscreens.

The user interface is optimized for car screens with a 1024x600 resolution in landscape mode. If you experience display issues with a different resolution, please report the problem on the XDA Developers website (link provided below).

This app is built upon the HRadio example code by IRT GmbH (Fabian Sattler), licensed under the Apache License 2.0.

Compatible USB Receiver IDs:

  • 0416:b003
  • 0fd9:004c
  • 16c0:05dc
  • 1d19:110d

What's New in Version 1.1.6:

  • Android 14 target enabled.
  • Fixed USB discovery issues when the app is already running.
  • Resolved an issue where the app sometimes failed to stop when the back button was pressed.
