Hexanaut.io, commonly known as hexanaut, is an IO game focused on claiming as much land as possible. Watch out—don't cross your own trail or get cut off by opponents. The map also contains totems you can capture for extra perks. How much territory can you dominate? Show off your skills in this land-grabbing competition.
HEXANAUT GAME INSTRUCTIONS
Move your cursor to navigate the map. Venture outside your territory to draw a boundary and claim new ground. Once you complete a loop back to your land, you'll secure all the enclosed tiles.
Outside your territory, you're vulnerable. If another player intercepts your trail, you'll be eliminated and must restart.
Aim to control 20% of the map to earn the Hexanaut title. If you maintain at least 20% territory for two minutes as Hexanaut, you win!
Warning: if you're eliminated while someone else holds the Hexanaut status, you can’t rejoin that match.
CAPTURE TOTEMS
There are five distinct totems available to capture in Hexanaut.io. Seize them whenever it's safe—they each provide unique advantages that boost your chances of winning.
SPREADING TOTEM
The Spreading Totem is the only one that directly captures hexes. Once secured, it emits lasers that claim tiles one by one. This is especially helpful early on when gaining ground is tougher.
SPEED TOTEM
The SPEED TOTEM boosts your movement speed by 5%. It may not sound like much, but stacking two or three makes a real difference. Prioritize these totems to gain an edge.
TELEPORTING GATE
Teleporting Gates do exactly what the name suggests—they let you travel instantly between gates. Great for crossing large territories quickly. Save time moving across your domain, or use them to surprise enemies who are attacking your outskirts while you're far away.
SLOWING TOTEM
The SLOWING TOTEM creates a zone that dramatically reduces other players' speed—like moving through a spiderweb. Use this to trap opponents inside the slow zone. Avoid enemy slow totems whenever possible—there's no reason to fight at such a disadvantage.
SPY DISH
The SPY DISH reveals all enemy territories. This becomes crucial once you control a large area, showing where rivals are attacking so you can defend strategically.
IS HEXANAUT A MULTIPLAYER GAME?
Yes and no. Hexanaut is an IO game, which blends real players and bots in the same server. Matches have large lobbies, so bots fill empty slots to keep wait times short and matches starting fast.
