While a Nintendo Switch version of Palworld isn't entirely off the table, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has voiced concerns regarding the technical hurdles involved in porting the game.

In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the difficulties of bringing Palworld to the Switch, emphasizing that the game's demanding PC specifications present significant technical challenges. While discussions about future platforms are ongoing, no concrete announcements regarding a Switch release are available.

Despite these challenges, Mizobe remains optimistic about expanding Palworld's reach to new platforms. He previously acknowledged the technical disparity between the PC version and the Switch's capabilities as a major obstacle. The possibility of PlayStation, mobile, or other console releases remains unconfirmed. Earlier this year, Mizobe did confirm discussions about bringing Palworld to additional platforms. He also stated that the company is open to partnerships and acquisition offers, but hasn't engaged in any buyout negotiations with Microsoft.

Future Vision: More Ark and Rust-like Elements

Mizobe also shared his vision for enhancing Palworld's multiplayer aspects. An upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, will pave the way for more extensive PvP experiences. His goal is to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, including robust PvP combat and intricate resource management.

Palworld, Pocketpair's unique creature-collecting and survival shooter, has enjoyed a remarkably successful launch. The game sold 15 million copies on PC in its first month and attracted 10 million players on Xbox via Game Pass. A significant update, including the Sakurajima update with a new island and a PvP arena, is set to launch on Thursday.
