FBC: Firebreak, Remedy’s Co-Op FPS Set in the World of Control, Has a Release Date

Author : Patrick May 07,2025

Remedy has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will hit the shelves on June 17, 2025. This exciting new addition to the Control universe is a session-based, multiplayer PvE game that promises an engaging experience through its replayable missions, dubbed Jobs. Each Job comes with unique challenges, objectives, and environments, demanding teamwork and adaptability from players.

Scheduled for release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, FBC: Firebreak is priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Fans can also access the game on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). Notably, this marks Remedy’s first venture into self-publishing.

In addition to the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which retails for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium package includes an array of exclusive cosmetics and voice packs. Owners of the base game have the option to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition features:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

Here’s what Remedy has to say about the game:

FBC: Firebreak introduces Requisitions, a system that rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more - all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; if an item is added in the game, it’s always available.

For those who want additional customization options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items - such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are purchased with real money. The items are purely cosmetic, have no gameplay impact, and will remain available permanently. Read more about how Requisitions work here.

Remedy also confirmed its commitment to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch. Plans include the release of two new Jobs in 2025, with further updates slated for 2026. All new playable content, such as Jobs, will be available to players at no additional cost. While players can purchase cosmetic items, these will not influence gameplay and will not be subject to limited-time rotations or daily log-in requirements, Remedy emphasized.

This is a bustling period for Remedy, as the developer juggles multiple projects including FBC: Firebreak, Control 2, and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation.
