Blizzard finds itself at the heart of another Overwatch 2 controversy. A newly released Lucio skin, the Cyber DJ, initially priced at $19.99, was unexpectedly offered for free just a day later.
The Cyber DJ skin appeared in the in-game store, only to be revealed as a free reward for watching a Twitch stream for one hour on February 12th, during an event showcasing Overwatch 2's future.
This sparked considerable backlash from players who had already purchased the skin. This isn't the first time Blizzard has sold cosmetic items only to later offer them for free, leading to widespread calls for refunds. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard has yet to address refund requests.

Facing stiff competition, particularly from the successful Marvel Rivals, Blizzard announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th to unveil significant gameplay updates. The event will feature reveals of new maps, heroes, and other content. Blizzard will also host prominent streamers at their headquarters to offer an exclusive preview of upcoming game updates.
