Alienware's Area-51 Now Supports RTX 5090 Graphics Card

Author : Chloe Apr 04,2025

Dell has revitalized the iconic Alienware Area-51 lineup of prebuilt gaming PCs earlier this year, and now, the options have expanded beyond just the RTX 5080. You can now configure your Alienware Area-51 with the powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU and the much-anticipated Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, starting at a competitive $5,499.99. The best part? You won’t have to wait long; Dell promises an early April ship date.

The base configuration for the Alienware Area-51 with an RTX 5090 GPU, priced at $5,500, comes packed with top-tier components. It boasts an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU, which, while not offering the significant performance leap over the i9-14900K that some hoped for, is still Intel's latest and greatest flagship. This setup is complemented by 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM and a spacious 2TB NVMe SSD. The system's cooling is handled by a robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and a hefty 1,500W 80Plus Platinum-rated power supply ensures stable performance.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Introduced at CES 2025, the new Alienware Area-51 chassis retains the iconic design with notable updates. The aesthetic and cooling systems have been revamped, and the I/O panel is now conveniently located at the top of the case. The tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side vents. Instead, air intakes are strategically placed at the bottom and front, promoting a positive airflow design that keeps the interior cleaner. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and GPUs.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

----------------------------------------------------

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands as the pinnacle of consumer GPUs currently available. While Nvidia has focused on enhancing software, AI capabilities, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 still delivers a remarkable 25%-30% increase in raster performance over the RTX 4090. It also features an upgraded 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM, compared to the 4090's 24GB of GDDR6. Due to high demand, finding this GPU at its retail price is challenging, with eBay listings ranging from $3,500 to $4,000.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially surpassed the RTX 4090 in performance, though the generational leap is less pronounced than in the past. For traditional gaming, the RTX 5090 offers a modest uplift. However, in games that leverage DLSS 4, the performance boost is significant, albeit with 75% of the frames being AI-generated."
