South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) has assigned a "19+" rating to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The rating cites "excessive violence," "excessive profanity and swearing," and depictions of illegal substance use as reasons for the mature rating.

Hideo Kojima recently presented actress Shiori Kutsuna with flowers, acknowledging her significant contributions to the game. Kojima's message praised Kutsuna's dedication, highlighting her motion capture work in Los Angeles, 3D scanning sessions, and voice recording (both Japanese and English) across various locations, even amidst pandemic-related challenges.

Kutsuna's involvement reportedly began in the fall of 2022. At Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima showcased Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with several two-minute cutscenes introducing key allies to the protagonist.

These included: George Miller as Tarman, captain of the Magellan mobile base traversing tar lakes; Fatih Akin as Dollman, a former medium in doll form; and the returning Léa Seydoux as Fragile. Elle Fanning portrays "Tomorrow," a mysterious character discovered in a death-like realm, echoing the original Death Stranding tagline, "Tomorrow is in your hands."

One scene features the characters singing Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy (played by Shiori Kutsuna).
