Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Demo Available Today

Author : Sadie Feb 26,2025

A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK.

The demo, announced via X/Twitter, offers a taste of the full game's freeroam and combat, letting players explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis – areas not accessible early in the main game. It features the Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles, battles against powerful bounty enemies, four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum, new customization options, and karaoke with three songs. Note that progress from the demo likely won't carry over to the full game.

The full game releases February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (though these platforms won't receive the demo). Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows Goro Majima's amnesiac pirate adventures in Hawaii, boasting ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima. Expect a playtime of roughly 15-18 hours, significantly longer than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. A Kiryu Kazuma costume is available as an incentive for email signup or Sega rewards program participation.
