Navigating the world of Dragon Quest 3 Remake to collect all six colored orbs can be a thrilling adventure, but securing the Yellow Orb might pose a unique challenge. While the steps to obtain it are straightforward, knowing where to start can be tricky. In this guide, we'll help you overcome this hurdle and explain how to get the Yellow Orb in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

The Yellow Orb is found in a location known as Merchantburg, though it's not directly named as such in the game. In previous versions of Dragon Quest 3, it had a different name, and in the remake, it appears as ??? on your map. The town's name will be determined by the merchant you hire and leave there; for instance, if you name your merchant Christopher, the town becomes Christopherburg. To get the Yellow Orb, you must help establish and grow this village.

Where to Find Merchantburg ??? In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

After securing Black Pepper for the King of Portoga and obtaining your Ship, you can locate and visit Merchantburg. With quest markers enabled, you'll find the Merchantburg quest marker in the northeast corner of the map. To reach it, sail west from the coast to reach the easternmost edge of the eastern continent.

When Should I Visit Merchantburg?

Although you can visit locations and collect orbs in any order, it's advisable to establish Merchantburg as soon as you get the ship. The town requires significant time to develop before you can obtain the Yellow Orb. By setting up Merchantburg early, you can collect the other orbs while you wait, returning to the town as needed.

How to Get the Yellow Orb in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

### How to Establish Merchantburg in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:

Before heading to Merchantburg (???), visit PALS in Aliahan to hire a new Merchant. Travel directly to the town to minimize combat encounters, as your new party member will be at a lower level.

Upon arrival at Merchantburg, enter the only building available. Inside, you'll meet an old man eager to start a new town but in need of a Merchant. Offer your new Merchant as a candidate, and they will leave your party to establish the town. At this point, the town's official name will be set.

Returning to Merchantburg:

After establishing the town, continue with your journey to collect the Purple Orb from Orochi's Lair and the Blue Orb from Gaia's Navel. You'll receive notifications to return to Merchantburg as it grows through five stages. Each visit will show the town expanding, culminating in the construction of a large club.

On your fourth visit, mention your Merchant's name to the security guard outside the cabaret. They might try to overcharge you, but it's part of the experience. You'll also notice that your Merchant is becoming too proud, signaling the nearing end of their reign and the approach of the Yellow Orb's availability.

How to Get the Yellow Orb:

On your fifth and final visit, arrive at night. You'll find that the Merchant is no longer at home; instead, they're imprisoned in a jail cell in the house just south of their residence. Speak to the Merchant to learn about the town's revolt and the location of the Yellow Orb. After the conversation, return to the Merchant's home. A quest marker will appear behind the sofa; interact with the ground there to uncover the Yellow Orb.

For most players, the Yellow Orb will be the second-to-last orb collected. The Red Orb can be found at the Pirates' Den, the Green Orb in Theddon, and the Silver Orb in the Maw of the Necrogond/Necrogond Shrine.
