FromSoftware recently thrilled fans by sending out confirmation emails for the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, announced via their official Twitter (X) account on January 30, 2025. Enthusiasts who applied for the test eagerly shared their confirmation emails, expressing their excitement and gratitude for being selected. Those who received these confirmations will get a follow-up email on February 11, 2025, with a unique code to download the Network Test client on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Registration for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test was open from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, fans who didn't receive a confirmation email have no further information on additional test dates at this time.
Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test
FromSoftware described the network test as a "preliminary verification test" where selected testers will play a segment of the game before its full launch. The test will focus on "various technical verifications of online systems" through large-scale network load tests, helping FromSoftware assess the servers' capacity to handle multiple players simultaneously.
The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1 - February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
- Session 2 - February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
- Session 3 - February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
- Session 4 - February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
- Session 5 - February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move
Amidst the excitement, there's a darker side to watch out for. Reports indicate an ongoing scam on Steam where players receive fraudulent invites to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Clicking these invites can lead to suspicious pages, hacking attempts, and mass messaging to friends. FromSoftware has only used their official website and social media for registration and confirmations, so any other links should be treated with caution as they could be malicious.
Additionally, scalpers have jumped on the bandwagon, posting listings for "confirmed test codes" on various buy-and-sell platforms right after the confirmation emails were sent out. Despite the codes not being available until February 11, these listings are priced outrageously between $150 and $200, with some even being auctioned off.
Elden Ring Nightreign was first unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. FromSoftware has slated a 2025 release window, though no specific date has been announced yet.
