Marvel Contest of Champions is rolling out a wave of thrilling updates for April, featuring the debut of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another distinct champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray, offering players a diverse range of characters to explore.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering challenge when she was exposed to uranium as a child. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a unique blend of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the experiment's initial drawbacks but also gained remarkable spider powers, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. Players can add her to their roster starting April 17th.
However, before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, Lumatrix will step into the arena on April 9th. Designed by the Founders as one of their most lethal assassins, Lumatrix is equipped with dazzling light-based abilities, making him a formidable infiltrator and eliminator.
What Else Is New?
The narrative continues with Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," where Carina faces severe injuries after clashing with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom allies with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges on the scene.
Starting April 9th and running through May 7th, the Event Quest "Spy Games" will feature Black Widow investigating the enigmatic Eidols, with assistance from the newly introduced Spider-Woman.
Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.
The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" makes a comeback, challenging players to deploy their strongest Saga champions in pursuit of Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
