Fidough and Dachsbun's Pokemon GO Shiny Status Revealed

Author : Oliver Nov 27,2025

Quick Access

Pokémon GO typically rolls out new creatures gradually rather than introducing large groups all at once. New evolution families, regional forms, Mega Evolutions, Dynamax versions, and shiny variants are usually released through special events and limited-time activities. These events spotlight specific Pokémon or themes, giving players their first chance to catch these monsters while earning useful bonuses and rewards.

As part of the Dual Destiny season, the Fidough Fetch event marks the debut of the Paldean canine Pokémon Fidough and its evolution Dachsbun. With both now available, trainers can collect them through several methods to fill another slot in their Pokédex, bolster their collection, or strengthen their battle teams. If you're looking to add Fidough or Dachsbun to your roster, everything you need to know is outlined in this guide.

How to Get Fidough & Dachsbun in Pokémon GO

In Pokémon GO, Fidough and Dachsbun made their first appearance during the Dual Destiny season's Fidough Fetch event. This event ran from January 4 to January 8, 2025, featuring Fidough among several other canine-like Pokémon appearing in the wild. This gave trainers opportunities to encounter and catch it naturally. Fidough was also available by completing Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges, providing additional ways to obtain one or more of these Pokémon.

Another option is to trade with local trainers. If you need a trading partner, Pokémon GO communities on platforms like Reddit or Discord can help you find reliable players.

Since Dachsbun does not spawn in the wild, trainers must either trade for one or evolve a Fidough using 50 Candies. If you have multiple Fidough, compare their stats before evolving to ensure you get the strongest Dachsbun. This Pokémon has shown solid battle performance, making it a valuable addition for future events, PvP leagues, and NPC battles.

Can Fidough & Dachsbun Be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Currently, shiny Fidough and Dachsbun are not available in Pokémon GO. Their standard forms debuted during the Dual Destiny season, but their shiny variants have yet to be released. Niantic often introduces shiny versions of existing Pokémon through future events or limited-time activities, so there's a good chance they'll appear later. Until then, trainers will have to wait and focus their shiny hunting efforts elsewhere.
