Genshin Impact Leaks: Popular Character

Summary

  • According to a leak, Wriothesley may get a rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4 after waiting over a year in the Fortress of Meropide.
  • Genshin Impact struggles to maintain a fair schedule with over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots.
  • Despite a new Spiral Abyss buff benefiting Wriothesley, players may face longer rerun wait times until triple banners are introduced.

According to a recent Genshin Impact leak, Wriothesley is slated to receive his first rerun in Version 5.4 after over a year of waiting in the Fortress of Meropide. With over 90 playable characters, Genshin Impact faces a significant challenge in maintaining a fair and equitable schedule for its Event Banners. With an average of one new 5-Star character released per patch, there are currently 43 limited 5-Star characters that deserve at least one rerun per year. However, with only 27 possible slots for these reruns, achieving this balance has become unfeasible.

The introduction of the Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact was an attempt by the developers to address this issue, but many players view it as a temporary solution rather than a comprehensive fix. For instance, Shenhe had to wait over 600 days before her rerun was announced for Version 5.3. Until the developers consider implementing Triple Banners, Genshin Impact players may need to endure longer wait times for character reruns.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst who debuted in Version 4.1, has been a notable victim of this scheduling challenge, not appearing on Event Banners since November 8, 2023. Wriothesley in Genshin Impact represents a modern Cryo hypercarry, with his Burnmelt teams capable of delivering substantial damage. According to the leaker Flying Flame, Wriothesley is set to return in Version 5.4's Event Banners.

Genshin Impact Could Feature a Wriothesley Banner in Version 5.4

It's important to approach this information with caution, as Flying Flame has had an inconsistent track record, particularly with leaks related to Natlan. While they accurately predicted the introduction of a new Chronicled Banner themed around the Lantern Rite in Version 5.3, other predictions have proven false. Therefore, Genshin Impact players should take this news with a grain of salt. However, the new Spiral Abyss buff in Genshin Impact does enhance Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credibility to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also expected to introduce Mizuki to Genshin Impact, potentially as Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on one half of the Event Banners, the other half is likely to include either Furina or Venti, as Archon characters typically follow a sequential rerun pattern, and these two are the only ones yet to do so. Version 5.4 is anticipated to launch on February 12, 2025.
