Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Free 4-Star Character Selector for Version 3.1

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak Hints at Free 4-Star Character Selector

A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay elements and characters. While the game boasts 23 4-star characters, many haven't maintained their meta relevance, often requiring significant Eidolon investment to shine. Past updates offered similar free selectors, aiding players in strengthening their existing 4-star rosters.

The leak, originating from the reputable leaker HomDGCat, specifies the four selectable characters, all introduced during the game's initial 1.0 cycle. Asta, in particular, is already obtainable early in the game. This selector's inclusion fuels speculation that HoYoverse may not be releasing new 4-star characters in the near future, especially considering rumors that upcoming characters are all 5-star. The disparity between 5-star (nearly 40) and 4-star characters is significant, with eight more 5-star characters anticipated in the Amphoreus update, plus two more potentially from the upcoming Fate/Stay Night crossover.

Analyzing the offered characters, Pela and Asta remain viable support units, while Qingque and Serval have been largely outclassed by newer DPS options. All four are also available for purchase in the in-game store. The 2.0 cycle only added four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form), raising concerns about the future viability of such selectors if this trend continues.

Despite this, Version 3.0 promises exciting additions with the arrival of Herta and Aglaea. To prepare players for the upcoming pulls, HoYoverse recently released new redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials. The Version 3.1 leak, therefore, offers a valuable opportunity for players to bolster their teams before the influx of new 5-star characters.

Character Details:

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony
