The developers confirmed the existence of a "sort of" sex feature. While the act of procreation between male and female Zois is implied—likely occurring in bed—the visuals are left to the player's imagination. The developers opted for suggestive implication rather than explicit depiction, aiming for a balance between mature themes and broad accessibility. This approach contrasts with the more cartoonish representation found in games like The Sims.
The decision to avoid explicit visuals stems partly from technical limitations. The developers explained that blurring effects, effective in cartoonish games, proved counterproductive in inZOI's more realistic art style, often leading to unintended suggestive results. Furthermore, a bug during testing revealed fully nude Zois via reflections, a problem subsequently resolved.
Despite these features, inZOI has received a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, mirroring The Sims 4. This reflects the developers' intention to create a game accessible to a wide age range.
