The Open Alpha Test begins February 27, 2025, on consoles and PC, concluding five days later on March 2nd.

This Open Alpha is truly open to everyone! On February 27th:
- Visit your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PlayStation Store, etc.).
- Search for "Splitgate 2".
- Download the Crossplay Alpha Test.
What Awaits in the Open Alpha:
According to 1047 Games' Lead Writer, Nate Dern (via the PlayStation Blog), the Open Alpha features crossplay and a new 24-player mode: Multi-Team Portal Warfare. Three teams of eight will battle on Splitgate's largest map yet, experimenting with new weapons, perks, and equipment.
The core gameplay revolves around the series' signature portal mechanics, allowing for creative maneuvers and trick shots. While new character classes (or factions) with unique abilities are being introduced, the portal system remains central to the experience. Dern emphasizes that player feedback has significantly shaped the game's development.
The Splitgate 2 Open Alpha launches February 27th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
