"Mandalorian and Grogu Update Enhances Millennium Falcon Ride - Star Wars Celebration"

Author : Emma May 04,2025

Star Wars Celebration has unveiled thrilling new details for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to launch alongside the new movie. This update will introduce an exciting feature where Engineers will have the unique opportunity to take care of Grogu. Additionally, fans will be able to explore the iconic planet of Coruscant, along with other beloved locations like Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor, as part of a dynamic choose-your-own-adventure storyline.

Mark your calendars for May 22, 2026, when this update will become available. While it will diverge from the path of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, it will still prominently feature both Din Djarin and Grogu in innovative ways. The storyline kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a shady deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates, sparking a high-stakes chase across the galaxy. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue these criminals and claim a bounty in an exhilarating, galaxy-spanning adventure.

While specific details are still emerging, we know that Engineers will play a significantly larger role this time, as they'll be tasked with caring for Grogu. What could be more exciting than that?

To shed more light on what fans can expect, we had the opportunity to speak with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama. He shared insights into the new interactive elements: "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "We think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu to his own devices, which might result in some playful antics on the control panel. We love the idea of these fun little vignettes and moments where you're on the comm with Grogu."

Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, Kalama added, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you're strapped for time and have to make a lightning-quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This decision will be the inciting incident that determines the different destinations you'll visit."
