This hidden trophy/achievement is deceptively tricky. Its simplicity masks its elusiveness; it's easily missed if you're not looking for it. The key? Capturing the Sandstar, a unique endemic life found only in the Windward Plains.

This tiny desert mouse-like creature, with its shimmering fur and long tail (pictured above), only appears at night in a specific area. Since most players explore the Windward Plains during the day, reaching nightfall requires a bit of strategy.

There are two ways to accelerate time:

  • Fast Travel: Once you've unlocked multiple fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly fast traveling between them advances time until nightfall.
  • Resting: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, use your Guild Points to rest at a camp and choose "Nighttime" as your desired time.

The Sandstar is small and incredibly fast, even for your Seikret. Before the chase, consider gathering Screamer Pods. These can be obtained from Baunos, small winged monsters (red bodies) found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains. They often scavenge near carcasses, making them easy targets for Screamer Pod collection. While not essential, they significantly simplify the capture.

Once it's night, head to the midpoint between Areas 11 and 13. Keep a close eye out for the Sandstar. When spotted, chase it at full speed, using Screamer Pods (if you have them) to stun it. Immediately switch to your Capture Net (the same one used for fishing) and capture the Sandstar.

The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock automatically, rewarding you with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate for your Hunter Profile.
