Palworld 0.5.0 Update: Crossplay, Blueprint Upgrades, Photo Mode Added

Author : Anthony May 03,2025

Palworld's latest update, version 0.5.0, introduces a groundbreaking feature: crossplay across all platforms, enhancing the gaming experience by allowing players on different systems to play together seamlessly. This update also brings the Global Palbox, which enables players to store Pal data and transfer Pals between different worlds, making it easier to manage your Pal collection. A new Dimensional Pal Storage system has been added, boasting a capacity 10 times larger than the regular Palbox. This can be shared among guild members or set to private for personal use, offering flexibility in how players manage their resources.

In addition to these storage enhancements, the update introduces a cosmetic armor system, allowing players to change their character’s appearance without affecting their armor stats. This feature, accessible through the Antique Dresser, adds a new layer of personalization to your Palworld experience. The addition of a Photo Mode lets players capture stunning in-game moments, while the new Drafting Table allows for the upgrading of blueprints, enhancing crafting possibilities. Dedicated servers for Mac users have also been introduced, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience on that platform.

Developer Pocketpair has announced that dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version are in the works, with a release planned for the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players, showcasing its immense popularity. Looking ahead, Pocketpair has outlined a content roadmap for 2025, which includes the introduction of an "ending scenario" and more new content, keeping the game fresh and engaging for its large player base.

Launched on Steam for $30 and available on Game Pass for Xbox and PC, Palworld broke sales and concurrent player number records upon release. The game's success led Pocketpair to form a new business, Palworld Entertainment, in collaboration with Sony, aimed at expanding the Palworld IP and bringing the game to the PlayStation 5.

However, Palworld's rise has not been without challenges. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, alleging infringement on multiple patent rights. Pocketpair has responded by adjusting certain gameplay mechanics, such as how players summon Pals, and is prepared to defend its position in court.
