Palworld Dating Sim: No April Fools' Joke, Dev Confirms

Author : Nova Apr 01,2025

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their massively popular monster-catching game, Palworld. On March 31, they announced Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a new dating sim set within the same universe. This isn't an April Fools' Day prank; Pocketpair assures fans that this is a real project.

The concept for Palworld! More Than Just Pals originated from an April Fools' Day stunt in 2024, where the team jokingly announced the game. Now, it's becoming a reality, set to launch on PC via Steam at a future date yet to be specified.

In Palworld! More Than Just Pals, players will dive into a unique experience at Palagos Private Academy. Here, they'll meet and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals. The game's official Steam page introduces characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, familiar names from the Palworld universe.

As a transfer student at the academy, players will navigate school life, forging friendships and romantic relationships with the Pals. The game description humorously notes that players have the choice to maintain friendships, pursue romance, or even take a darker path with their Pals.

Bucky from Palworld confirmed the game's legitimacy on social media, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)."

Palworld itself celebrated its one-year anniversary in January 2025 and continues to evolve with new updates. Recent additions include crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode, keeping the community engaged as they await the dating sim. Meanwhile, fans hoping for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld have something to look forward to, though a Switch port remains uncertain. However, there's hope that Palworld! More Than Just Pals might eventually make its way to the console.

This intriguing addition to the Palworld universe promises a blend of friendship, romance, and the unexpected, all set within the beloved world fans have come to enjoy.
