Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Classic Console Throwback

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some nostalgic gadgets in the game. The festivities kick off with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025, and you won't want to miss it.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with a variety of fun decor, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is taking us on a trip down memory lane by introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the nostalgia, there's a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin. This is a tribute to Nintendo’s origins when they were known for crafting playing cards before they ventured into the world of video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event runs from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving you an entire month to immerse yourself in the missions and collect these cool new Pikmin. Each time you complete an Event Challenge mission, you'll be rewarded with random goodies such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will make an appearance. Crushing these mushrooms will yield Mystery Boxes filled with treasures like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at tackling these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

In May, the flowers can bloom into stunning varieties such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

There's also a nectar update, so the fruit you collect from mushrooms during May will provide nectar for regular flowers. This update also applies to the special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.

Alongside these updates, there are plenty of other exciting events planned, including Community Day. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready to celebrate the 3.5th anniversary in style.
