Pokemon GO is set to introduce Gigantamax Kingler on February 1, 2025, marking a significant update to the game. Last year, the game thrilled players by adding the much-anticipated Dynamax and Gigantamax forms. Since then, Niantic has been steadily rolling out more of these unique variants.

Gigantamax, a special form of Dynamax, not only amplifies a Pokemon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and bestows unique abilities known as G-Max Moves. In the main series games, 32 Pokemon can Gigantamax, but only six of these have made it into Pokemon GO so far, with Gigantamax Lapras being the latest addition. The lineup is about to expand with the upcoming event.

Gigantamax Kingler Debuts at Pokemon GO's Upcoming Max Battle Day

  • When: Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time

  • New Pokemon: Gigantamax Kingler in six-star Max Battles

  • Max Mushrooms: Players can use these to boost damage in Max Battles

  • New Bundle: A $7.99 bundle available on the Pokemon GO Web Store, containing six packs of Max Particles

  • Event Bonuses:

    • Max Particle collection limit increased to 1600
    • All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
    • Power Spots will refresh more frequently

  • Additional Bonuses on February 1 from 1 pm to 5 pm local time:

    • Double Max Particles when exploring
    • 1/4 the usual adventure distance required to earn particles
  • New $5 Ticket Offering:

    • 1 Max Mushroom
    • 25,000 XP
    • Double XP from Max Battles
    • Max Particle collection limit increased to 5600

During the Max Battle Day event, players can gather up to 1600 Max Particles, essential for participating in Pokemon GO's Max Battles. Power Spots will be transformed into Gigantamax Battle hubs, refresh more often, and provide 8x the usual particle yield. Between 1 pm and 5 pm on February 1, players will earn twice the Max Particles while exploring and only need to travel a quarter of the usual distance to collect them. A $5 ticket will offer one Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and raise the Max Particle collection limit to 5600. Additionally, a $7.99 box with six particle packs will be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store.

The Max Battle Day event is just one of several exciting events scheduled for February. Niantic has also announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29 to February 1, 2025. Although Gigantamax Kingler won't be featured, players can look forward to other events, such as the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19, and the introduction of more Galar Pokemon in the coming days.
