Pokemon Company Addresses Prismatic Evolutions TCG Shortage

The Pokémon Company has officially addressed the widespread shortages of the highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions set, expressing gratitude to Pokémon TCG fans for their patience. This acknowledgment marks the first time the company has publicly discussed the issues surrounding this new expansion, which was announced in early November 2024 and set for an international release on January 17, 2025.

Prismatic Evolutions was designed to kick off the new year with a bang for the Pokémon TCG community. However, fans globally, including those in the United States, have faced significant challenges in securing these products due to the shortages. In response to ongoing complaints on social media, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that it is actively working to rectify the situation by producing reprints of the Prismatic Evolutions set. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to acknowledge this," a spokesperson told IGN.

Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Are Coming Soon

The reprints of Prismatic Evolutions are currently in production and are expected to reach licensed distributors soon. While no specific timeline has been provided, The Pokémon Company assures fans that they are doing everything possible to meet the high demand. The company has not directly addressed the role of scalpers in the shortages but has attributed the issue to the overwhelming demand for the new set.

More Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Products Are Also on the Horizon

In addition to the reprints, The Pokémon Company has exciting news for fans: more Prismatic Evolutions products are slated for release in the coming months. These include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box, both set to debut on February 7, 2025. Further releases include a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection, scheduled for March 7 and April 25, respectively. The Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection will follow on May 16, with a Premium Figure Collection arriving on September 26. Fans eager to try out the new cards can also earn Prismatic Evolutions cards by participating in the Battle Pass within the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game, starting January 16, 2025.
