Pokémon Go Ends 2025 with New Year's Event

Author : Ryan Apr 24,2025

As 2024 draws to a close, Pokémon Go is set to celebrate the New Year with its annual festive event, starting on December 30th and running until January 1st, 2025. This event offers themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and a variety of ways to start 2025 with a bang.

Following the special Community Day event from December 21st to 22nd, where all past Community Day Pokémon make a comeback, the New Year's event promises even more excitement. One of the event's standout features is the opportunity to earn 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw. As you roam, don't miss the festive fireworks illuminating the sky, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere with abundant New Year's decorations.

The event will also increase your chances of encountering themed Pokémon. Look out for Jigglypuff adorned with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple wearing a party hat, all appearing more frequently in the wild. Keep an eye out for their Shiny forms as well, which you might be lucky enough to encounter.

Raids during the event will have a festive twist. One-star raids will feature Pikachu sporting a snowflake beanie, while three-star raids will include Raticate and Wobbuffet, both donning party hats. All three have heightened Shiny rates during the event, adding to the excitement.

For those who enjoy quests, the event includes Field Research and Timed Research tasks that offer additional encounters. There's also a Paid Timed Research option for $2, which provides exclusive rewards such as three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Additionally, the Ultra Holiday Box is available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for $4.99, including a Pokémon Storage upgrade, an Item Bag upgrade, and 17 Rare Candies. Don't forget to redeem the latest *Pokémon Go codes* for some free rewards to enhance your gameplay experience.
