Where\'s Potato? offers a new entry in the prop hunt genre, out now on android

Author : Harper Mar 06,2025

Where's Potato? is a new mobile game entering the increasingly popular prop hunt genre. Players take turns being either a potato (hiding) or a seeker (finding). The potato must evade capture, or, by consuming chili peppers, burn three seekers to win.

The game's visuals are simple 3D graphics depicting a typical suburban home as the hiding environment. While not visually stunning, it's a functional design, especially impressive considering it's a solo project from a relatively new developer.

However, the game's success might be limited. Prop hunt's popularity largely stems from its integration into established social gaming platforms or as a game mode within larger titles. As a standalone mobile game, Where's Potato? may struggle to stand out.

Despite this, the game represents a commendable effort, particularly the successful implementation of multiplayer functionality – a challenge even for experienced developers. The developer, gamesbynav, shows promise, and future projects warrant attention.
