Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!

EA and Maxis are commemorating The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic gift: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, individually or bundled together for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.

These releases offer nearly complete packages. The Sims: Legacy Collection includes all expansion packs and almost all stuff packs. Similarly, The Sims 2: Legacy Collection boasts all expansions and nearly all stuff packs, with the only apparent omission being the IKEA Home Stuff pack. Both collections even include bonus content: The Sims 1 gets a "Throwback Fit Kit," and The Sims 2 receives a "Grunge Revival Kit."

PlayThis marks a significant return for these classic titles. The Sims 1 was originally a disc-only release, making it inaccessible to modern players without a physical copy. The Sims 2, while available digitally in 2014 via an Ultimate Collection, was later removed from digital storefronts. Now, with these Legacy Collections, all four main Sims games are readily available for purchase and play digitally.

Our original reviews praised The Sims 1 (9.5/10) and The Sims 2 (8.5/10) for their charm, simplicity, and challenging gameplay. While the series has evolved significantly, the originals remain worthwhile experiences, offering a unique blend of nostalgia, quirky gameplay, and lasting appeal.

The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
