Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 received a remastered edition in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This new listing strongly suggests an upcoming release for current-gen consoles, likely encompassing both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, though official confirmation is pending.

Interestingly, the game's genre description has shifted. Previous versions were categorized as "third-person shooters," while the new ESRB entry designates it as "survival horror." This subtle change sparks speculation about potential enhancements or alterations in this new iteration. Further details are anticipated in an official announcement.

Beyond this remaster, fans eagerly await news of Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
