Hollow Knight: Silksong Playable Demo
Showcased at Australia’s Game Worlds Exhibit

Hollow Knight: Silksong ranks among the most eagerly awaited games in recent years, with fans clamoring for any opportunity to experience it. The wait may soon ease, as a playable demo will be available at Australia’s National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI). This new demo is expected to differ significantly from the 2019 E3 version, which was widely regarded as a preliminary showcase.
ACMI’s Game Worlds exhibition, running from September 18, 2025, to February 8, 2026, will spotlight several iconic titles, including World of Warcraft, The Sims, and Australia’s own Hollow Knight: Silksong. The exhibit will feature exclusive game builds, original design documents, concept art, and notable artifacts.
In an interview with IGN, ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed excitement about including Silksong in the exhibit. They stated, “Since its 2019 reveal, Hollow Knight: Silksong has captured global anticipation as a leading indie title. We’re thrilled to highlight this South Australian creation as a cornerstone of our Game Worlds exhibit in September.”

Since its 2019 announcement, details about Silksong have been sparse, leaving fans to speculate about its release and features. ACMI’s Game Worlds exhibit aims to quench this thirst for information, offering deeper insights into the game’s development.
The co-curators shared that the exhibit will explore the intricate details of Silksong’s design. They noted, “From the countless sprites animating Hornet’s movements and combat to the mechanics behind the game’s toughest boss battles, our Silksong displays—complete with in-gallery play—offer an in-depth look at its artistry and craftsmanship.”

While the Australian exhibit may hint at a potential launch window, no official release date for Silksong has been confirmed. A recent Switch 2 Direct appearance affirmed a 2025 release window. With the exhibit running through 2026, fans are hopeful for a launch as early as September or during the exhibit’s duration.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For the latest updates on the game, explore our detailed coverage below!
