Tsukuyomi: Divine Hunter - New Deck-Building Roguelike by Kazuma Kaneko

Author : Liam Apr 28,2025

Legendary designer Kazuma Kaneko, known for his work on Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Devil Summoner, is back with an exciting new project titled Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter. Developed by COLOPL, this roguelike deck-building game is set to launch on PC, iOS, and Android, blending Kaneko’s iconic dark and mythological style with strategic card-based gameplay.

Set in a futuristic Tokyo Bay, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter unfolds within The Hashira, a towering high-rise transformed into a sealed battleground. This eerie structure is now home to gods and demons, and you'll join the elite national defense force, Tsukuyomi, on a mission to ascend to the top floor and eliminate a formidable target.

Fans of Kaneko’s previous works will recognize the game's setting, which masterfully combines elements of urban decay with supernatural horror, crafting a tense and atmospheric experience. The blend of mythology and cyberpunk themes will immerse you in a unique world when the game launches later this year.

In Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, you'll construct a deck of powerful abilities as you navigate an ever-changing dungeon. Each run offers unique cards, layouts, and enemy encounters, ensuring no two playthroughs are the same.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter Gameplay

Combat in the game is fast-paced and turn-based, where you must make critical decisions quickly. With each turn, you're limited to one action, be it an attack or defense move, requiring strategic planning to succeed.

While exploring the dungeon, you'll encounter branching paths and crucial choices that will shape your journey. Each decision has lasting consequences, affecting both battles and resource availability. True to the roguelike genre, failure is harsh—losing a fight means starting over from scratch, so meticulous planning is essential.
