Nonograms, also called Hanjie, Griddlers, Picross, Japanese Crosswords, or Paint by Numbers, are logic puzzles where you fill grid cells based on numerical clues to unveil hidden images. These numbers represent continuous blocks of colored squares separated by gaps. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" indicates sequences of four, eight, and three filled squares with at least one empty space between them.
Solving requires deducing which cells to fill (boxes) and which to leave empty (spaces). Identifying spaces is crucial—they help narrow down where number sequences can extend. Players often mark confirmed spaces with dots or crosses.
