WHAT IS RSTI?
The Self-Employed Workers' Social Scheme (RSTI) is a new social protection program from the National Social Security Fund (CNPS), offering coverage for illness, accidents, maternity, and providing a lifelong pension upon retirement.
WHO IS A SELF-EMPLOYED WORKER?
RSTI is designed for all self-employed individuals living in Côte d'Ivoire, whether Ivorian or foreign. This new regime protects those who work for themselves, including farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miners, non-salaried entrepreneurs, religious workers, and Ivorians working abroad.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF RSTI?
In case of illness or accident leading to incapacity for work, the self-employed person receives payments based on their declared income to the CNPS.
During maternity, the beneficiary receives payments from her declared income for 98 days. Upon retirement at age 60, the self-employed worker receives a lifelong pension. In the event of death, this pension is paid to their beneficiaries under certain conditions.
