Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch

Akatsuki Games has announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. It's hard to fathom, especially since the game was released just a few months ago in February on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. But what's behind its early demise? Let's delve into the details.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to shut down on November 27th, 2025. Along with this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just started to tease what was coming next. As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been halted. The anticipated adjustments and new features previously mentioned in-game are now officially canceled.

Moreover, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the game's roster, will no longer be added. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, with refunds starting after the Revenio contract expires.

Additionally, purchasing Enigma Entities or Daily Passes is no longer possible through the app or web store. However, players can continue using their existing Enigma Entities until the game's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a distinctive style and intriguing worldbuilding. Despite being a solid game, it faced challenges from the outset. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Moreover, there was little incentive for players to spend money. The game allowed players to build a competitive team with just one pull, and duplicates weren't necessary, which was beneficial for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue.

The decision to implement a gacha system appears to have been a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. Despite its impending closure, the game remains available to play until November 27th. If you're curious, you can still try it out on the Google Play Store.
