Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and a Sprigatito Community Day.

January brings the Eggs-pedition Access, part of the Dual Destiny season. Running from January 1st to 31st, this $4.99 in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon journey. The update also boosts your gifting capabilities, allowing for more gifts to be stored, sent, and collected.

New Year's 2025 Event Details:

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, the event still offers exciting features.

Expect increased wild spawns of festive Pokémon including Jigglypuff (with ribbon), Hoothoot (New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-hat Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's celebration! Afterwards, check out our coverage of Night Crimson and the latest Sword of Convallaria update.
