Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year

In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique title can be challenging. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure boasts a story that's as captivating as its gameplay.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally a game designer. In 2020, he was a writer and filmmaker. A college friend initially suggested a collaborative game project, but the team disbanded, leaving the idea unrealized.

Alameen, however, couldn't let go of the story. He embarked on a solo journey, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery

The game plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, brimming with secrets, puzzles, and surprises.

Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the narrative unfolds, is far from straightforward.

Blending 7000 years of Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling, My Father Lied offers a unique blend of ancient lore and contemporary narrative. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.

Android Release Date

My Father Lied launches on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are expected in Q3 2025. For more information, visit the official Kickstarter or Steam pages.

The game isn't currently available on the Play Store. Following the Steam release, the developers will likely focus on preparing the mobile versions. In the meantime, stay tuned for our next article on High Seas Hero's Apocalyptic Seas, now available on Android.
