Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two beloved game modes and a classic map this week, hot on the heels of its launch and a recent update addressing player feedback.

Nuketown and Infected Arrive This Week

Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, announced via Twitter (now X) that the popular "Infected" mode and the iconic Nuketown map will be added to the game this week. Infected, a fan-favorite party mode featuring player-controlled zombies, drops tomorrow. Nuketown, the 1950s nuclear test site-inspired map that debuted in 2010's Black Ops, arrives on November 1st. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions, ensuring continued updates for Black Ops 6. The game launched on October 25th with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.

Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Post-Launch Bugs

A recent update tackled several issues reported after the game's release. Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight received XP and weapon XP rate boosts. Activision stated they're closely monitoring XP across all modes. Here are some key fixes included in the patch:

  • Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, Bailey operator animation, and "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
  • Maps (Babylon, Lowtown, Red Card): Closed exploits allowing players to leave the designated play areas. Red Card also received stability improvements. General stability fixes for in-game interactions were also implemented.
  • Multiplayer: Addressed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, fixed Private Match forfeits with zero players on a team, and resolved the persistent Dreadnought missile sound effect.

Further updates are planned to address remaining issues, such as the Search & Destroy loadout selection death bug. Despite these post-launch challenges, Black Ops 6 is considered by many to be one of the best Call of Duty entries in recent memory, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
