Xbox's Multi-Platform Push Expands: Halo and Flight Simulator Rumored for PS5 and Switch 2

Reports suggest a significant expansion of Microsoft's multi-platform strategy, with potential releases of major Xbox franchises on PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

According to industry insider NateTheHate, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for ports to both PS5 and Switch 2, with a projected release in 2025. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to bring first-party titles to other consoles, including Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. The inclusion of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (October 2024) and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Spring 2025) further solidifies this trend.

NateTheHate also indicated a similar fate for Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently released MFS 2024, with a potential 2025 launch on PS5 and Switch 2.

This news aligns with comments from another reputable leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be making their way to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025. Corden has consistently predicted the end of the era of exclusive Xbox titles.

The future multi-platform releases are further supported by Microsoft's ten-year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles. The absence of Switch titles to date may be attributed to the anticipation of the more powerful Switch 2, better equipped to handle the demands of modern Call of Duty titles. The potential arrival of Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator on competing platforms marks a significant shift in Microsoft's gaming strategy.
