"American Dad Set to Return on Fox in 2026 Midseason"

Author : Ava May 28,2025

Get ready for more laughs and wild adventures because Seth MacFarlane's beloved animated series, *American Dad*, is making a triumphant return to Fox in 2026. This marks the second debut of the show on the network, and it will be accompanied by new episodes of MacFarlane's other hit series, *Family Guy*. The midseason homecoming for both series is a nostalgic nod to their original run on Fox from 2005 to 2014, before they moved to TBS until March of this year. Fox's decision to bring back these fan favorites is part of a strategic move to maintain a "winning position" in the highly competitive world of primetime television programming.

Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade expressed excitement about the upcoming season, stating via Variety, “Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that’s filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter. Next year more than ever, we’re bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu and beyond.” This statement underscores Fox's commitment to delivering quality content that resonates with viewers across multiple platforms.

American Dad is back. Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images.Fox is not only bringing back *American Dad* but is also making significant strides in its programming strategy. The network recently announced the launch of its new streaming service, Fox One, which will combine news, sports, and entertainment into one comprehensive platform. According to a press release from the network, Fox One will offer both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands, with the added option to bundle with Fox Nation within the same platform.

While *American Dad* does not yet have a confirmed premiere date for its return to Fox, fans can rest assured that they won't miss a moment of the action (and that catchy theme song). It's highly likely that the show will also be available on Fox One, but we'll have more details on that next year. So, get ready to welcome back Stan, Francine, and the rest of the Smith family as they continue to entertain and delight audiences on Fox and beyond.
