The Apple Watch Series 11 is Apple's flagship smartwatch, starting at $399. Its glass display is twice as scratch-resistant as the Series 10. The battery now lasts a full 24 hours, making it more reliable for overnight sleep tracking (more on that below). The cellular model also now supports 5G connectivity.
But the standout features are the two new health capabilities. One is a warning for potential high blood pressure, a key indicator of heart issues. The other is a new sleep score that evaluates sleep duration, bedtime consistency, wake-up time, and time spent in each sleep stage. This data is combined into a single score to help you improve your sleep health.
Apple Watch SE 3

The Apple Watch SE is the entry-level option, offering fewer features at a lower price. This new model runs on the same S10 chip as the Series 11. For the first time in the SE lineup, it includes an always-on display and the new sleep score feature.
However, both SE sizes are 2mm smaller than the Series 11 options. The display is not as bright, and it lacks several sensors, so it doesn't support hypertension alerts, ECG, or blood oxygen monitoring. Its battery is rated for 18 hours instead of 24. Still, at this price, it's an excellent entry-level smartwatch.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 (GPS + Cellular, 49mm)

For those who demand the very best, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is designed for rugged outdoor activities like hiking, camping, cycling, and diving. It introduces satellite communication, enabling messaging and SOS signals when you're beyond cellular coverage.
It offers up to 42 hours of battery life, and its new display features thinner bezels for a larger screen. It's also brighter at wider viewing angles. Like the Series 11, it includes 5G cellular, sleep scoring, and hypertension alerts. For the first time, its watch faces can display a seconds counter.
Overall, this is a typical year for Apple Watch updates. The Series 11 and Ultra 3 gain new hardware sensors and functions, while the SE 3 catches up on previously missing features. If your current smartwatch needs replacing, any of these models is a solid choice.
If you're also considering new earbuds, Apple has introduced the AirPods Pro 3. Priced at $249, they launch on September 19, the same day as the new Apple Watches.
