Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising to enhance the gaming experience with a variety of new features. These include new game+ mode, additional difficulty settings, fresh story content, and more, ensuring that fans have plenty to look forward to throughout 2025.
In a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute video update released today, Ubisoft outlined their detailed plans for the year, with a special focus on May and June. The first update, set to arrive in early May, is titled "The Works of Luis Frois." This free story add-on will be accompanied by a Codex update and several quality-of-life enhancements, including significant parkour additions and a photo mode update. Ubisoft emphasizes that these updates are a direct result of ongoing community feedback, showing their dedication to listening and responding to player needs.
"Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," said community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. "Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms."
In June, players can expect another free story drop along with more challenging difficulty settings, new gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear during cutscenes. These enhancements reflect the community's desires and are just a taste of what's to come. Before the year ends, Ubisoft plans to introduce new game+ support, additional story drops, special collaborations, and other exciting features.
The highlight of the roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, "Claws of Awaji," set to release later in the year. This 10-hour journey will introduce new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for Naoe and Yasuke to explore. While pricing details are yet to be announced, "Claws of Awaji" will be free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.
