*Atomfall* is a distinctive RPG that offers players the freedom to tailor their gaming experience. Right from the start, you're invited to choose a playstyle that aligns with your preferences, and if you're unsure about which to pick, this guide will walk you through each option.

As you begin your journey in *Atomfall*, you'll be greeted by the Playstyle menu, which offers five distinct modes designed to cater to different player experiences:

  • Sightseer – Ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the story without the pressure of intense combat or survival challenges. All aspects—Exploration, Survival, and Combat—are set to 'Assisted' difficulty.
  • Investigator – Perfect for players who enjoy exploring independently without HUD assistance, while keeping combat manageable. Exploration is set to 'Challenging', Survival to 'Casual', and Combat to 'Assisted'.
  • Brawler – Tailored for those who relish in combat challenges, with exploration and survival elements being less demanding. Combat is 'Challenging', Survival is 'Casual', and Exploration is 'Assisted'.
  • Survivor – Recommended by the developers, this mode offers a balanced challenge across all areas. Combat, Survival, and Exploration are all set to 'Challenging'.
  • Veteran – The ultimate test for seasoned players, with all aspects—Combat, Survival, and Exploration—set to 'Intense' difficulty.

If your initial choice feels too intense or too easy, you can switch your playstyle at any time without penalty. Simply pause the game, navigate to 'Options', and under the 'Game' tab, you'll find 'Playstyle'. Here, you can adjust the difficulty of Combat, Survival, and Exploration to align with one of the predefined modes or dive into 'Advanced Options' for more granular control over your experience.

Which Atomfall Playstyle Should You Start With?

*Atomfall* aims to provide a well-rounded experience, adaptable to your personal gaming preferences. When deciding which playstyle to begin with, consider starting with either **Investigator** or **Brawler**. These options offer a good balance to test the waters with the game's combat and exploration mechanics. From there, you can fine-tune your experience to suit your comfort level.

For the ultimate customization, the tailored playstyle option allows you to adjust every facet of the game, from enemy behavior to exploration and bartering ease, giving you full control over your adventure. Importantly, there are no achievements or trophies linked to specific difficulty levels, so feel free to experiment and change your settings as often as you like.

That wraps up our explanation of the *Atomfall* playstyles. For more tips and tricks, don't forget to check out our other content, including how to acquire a free Metal Detector early in the game.
