This update addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors in the Patch 8 stress test build. Improvements include ensuring Gale correctly uses magical items and fixing issues where container contents were lost upon destruction. Steam Deck users will find improved screenshot functionality in Photo Mode, along with more responsive character poses and enhanced cross-play capabilities. The Booming Blade tooltip has also been updated for clarity. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website. Only players participating in the stress test can download this update.

Patch 8 itself is anticipated to be a major update, possibly the final large content update before Larian moves on from Faerûn. Key features include platform cross-play, over twelve new subclasses (such as the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly anticipated Photo Mode.

Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the in-depth Photo Mode sneak peek video. Larian aims to empower players to maximize Photo Mode's potential from day one.

Accessible almost anywhere—during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host)—Photo Mode offers extensive customization. Position companions and characters, add extra elements (like a whimsical jumping frog!), and utilize the free-moving camera for the perfect shot. Post-processing effects, stickers, and frames add the finishing touches. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This sneak peek is just the beginning; Larian plans to release further tips and tricks videos to inspire creative photography within the community.
