In *Fields of Mistria*, expanding your farm is a crucial step to accommodate your growing needs for crops and animals. The farm expansion feature, introduced in the game's v0.13.0 update, allows you to significantly increase your farm's size by extending it across the river to a new piece of land. Here's a detailed guide on how to unlock and build this expansion.

To unlock the farm expansion, head to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the expansion as early as your first year in the game, but you'll need to meet certain progress requirements first.

The first step is to help the town reach **Rank 55** by accumulating enough Renown points. Additionally, you must complete the Stone Refinery repair quest, which also requires Town Rank 55. These requirements are interconnected, so progress in one will help you with the other.

Once you meet these prerequisites, you'll need to gather the necessary materials for the expansion. Be prepared for a significant investment in terms of time and resources.

Visit the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road, northeast of Mistria’s town center. From the shop’s main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ to view the requirements.

You'll need **40,000 Tesserae** to cover the monetary cost of the upgrade. Accumulate this amount through various activities such as gathering, farming, and completing quests. Regularly visit the Mines, fish, and contribute new items to the Museum to maximize your earnings.

Next, you'll require **50 x Refined Stone**. To obtain this, you must first repair the **Stone Refinery**, which becomes available at Town Rank 55. Before that, you'll need to repair the **Inn**.

Lastly, gather **50 x Hard Wood**, which is relatively easier to acquire. With a **Copper Axe**, you can chop **large tree stumps** around your farm and beyond, each yielding 2 x Hard Wood. Alternatively, you can purchase Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on specific days or earn it by contributing to the Museum.

Once you have all the required materials and funds, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a bridge for easy access.

That's how you build the farm expansion in *Fields of Mistria*. For more tips and guides, be sure to explore our other content, including how to craft Essence Stones.
