DC Comics has announced the launch of a new monthly series, *Superman Unlimited*, set to debut in May 2025. This exciting series marks the return of acclaimed writer Dan Slott to DC Comics, after his long stint as a Marvel-exclusive writer. Slott, known for his work on Marvel titles such as *The Amazing Spider-Man*, *She-Hulk*, and *Fantastic Four*, previously contributed to DC's *Arkham Asylum: Living Hell* and *Batman Adventures*. Now, he's back with *Superman Unlimited*, collaborating with artist Rafael Albuquerque, renowned for *American Vampire*, and colorist Marcelo Maiolo.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Slott stated, "He’s the first and the greatest superhero of all-time, and I’ve been waiting my whole life to tell stories about him. Not just because of all the amazing powers he has, but because of who he is inside. Rafael Albuquerque and I are going to take him—and you—to places you’ll want to escape to every month. In *Superman Unlimited*, the Man of Steel faces a perilous new reality after a Kryptonite asteroid scatters Green K across the planet. This leads to adversaries like Intergang arming themselves with Kryptonite-fueled weapons, pushing Superman to innovate new technology and crimefighting strategies to counter this deadly new age. Simultaneously, Clark Kent navigates a transformed Daily Planet, which has merged with Morgan Edge's Galaxy Communications, turning it into a global multimedia conglomerate.
DC group editor Paul Kaminski commented, "Superman Unlimited adds to the foundation of DC’s Superman comics in the same way Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness’s Superman/Batman did in the early 2000s. Superman Unlimited will capture the big, fun, high-flying adventures that Superman is known for, while also providing big moments for DC’s Superman-related comics with the introduction of a massive new Kryptonite deposit. The series will begin with a 10-page prelude story in the *DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition #1*, releasing on May 3, 2025. Following this, *Superman Unlimited #1* will hit the shelves on May 21, just before the premiere of James Gunn's *Superman* movie on July 11.
