Destiny 2 Year of Prophecy Roadmap
Roadmap Unveiled at The Edge of Fate Reveal Event
Destiny 2 continues to expand its vast free-to-play multiplayer universe. During a special livestream on May 7 titled 'The Edge of Fate,' Bungie detailed the Year of Prophecy roadmap, outlining major events planned for the rest of the year.
This annual plan introduces a significant shift in content delivery. Bungie announced, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each annual cycle will now feature four major content releases: two paid expansions and two major updates available to all players."
These updates will bring new events, Exotic missions, gear, rewards, and more. Crucially, the new model ensures that seasonal activities are accessible without a paid pass, guaranteeing all guardians can experience Destiny 2's core seasonal updates.
The Edge of Fate Expansion Launches July 15

Kicking off the Year of Prophecy, the first expansion, 'The Edge of Fate,' launches on July 15. Guardians will journey to a new destination, Kepler, and wield never-before-seen abilities with the aid of new allies.
This update also introduces a new feature called the Portal, described as "a new activity hub offering instant access to a curated list of activities tailored to different playstyles, making it easier than ever for players to find their next adventure."
Additional changes include an overhaul of the armor and tiering systems, new set bonuses, and a rework of character stats. More details on these systemic updates will be shared in the coming weeks.
Renegades Expansion Arrives December 2

The second expansion, 'Renegades,' arrives on December 2. Bungie confirms this release is a major crossover event with the legendary Star Wars franchise.
This expansion merges Destiny's signature gameplay and narrative with iconic Star Wars elements, creating a unique sci-fi chapter that honors both universes. The story and events of this collaboration will be a key part of the overarching Fate Saga, introducing new characters and gameplay mechanics.
