Get Your Pet
The first step in Diablo 4 Season 7 is to head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe and interact with it to obtain your pet. While pets don't contribute directly to combat, they efficiently gather all your gold and materials, saving you precious time that you can dedicate to battling and looting.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, visit the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can have up to two Mercenaries, making leveling and combat more manageable. Building Rapport with them also unlocks additional rewards, enhancing your gameplay experience.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline in Diablo 4 Season 7, identified by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to the Season's new mechanics, such as Headhunt zones, Grim Favors, and Witch powers. Although the questline is relatively short, it includes puzzles and requires you to farm Favors in Headhunt zones, which is also the fastest way to reach level 60. Continuously battle Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
A convenient quality-of-life feature this Season is that you don't need to redo class-specific priority quests if completed on a previous character. However, you must first log in with that character on the Eternal realm. For example, if you're playing a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a pre-existing Rogue who has completed the quests, then switch to your new Season 7 Rogue to automatically unlock your class power at the required level.
Headhunt Zones
While navigating Headhunt zones, make sure to complete the Whispers. With four zones active at any time, focus on the smallest, most compact ones for higher enemy density and faster mob farming. Prioritize these two Whisper quests:
- Fugitive: Requires recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
- Shepherd: An easy task of escorting animals around the map.
Upon collecting 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Additionally, you can turn in Favors to the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone, avoiding the need to teleport back to the Tree of Whispers.
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to purchase and upgrade your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, obtained from killing new Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrades are costly. Focus on powers that offer direct damage boosts for passive damage advantages. Some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you can encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty. Use a Draught of Whispers to increase your chances of finding a Forgotten Altar.
Rootholds
Rootholds, a new dungeon type in Diablo 4 Season 7, are accessible by consuming a Whispering Wood, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. Similar to a rogue-lite mode, Rootholds allow you to activate negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with the modifiers affecting the number and quality of these roots. Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1, as they are the best source of Ancestral loot this Season.
Occult Gems
Craft new Occult Gems by speaking with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, which can be slotted into your jewelry, outperform regular gems. Although not crucial until late-game, remember that crafting them requires a significant amount of Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. Using a Draught of Whispers can boost your chances of obtaining Heads from bosses.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons provide Glyphs, while Pits help level them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
