Conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, you're ready to confront Baramos in his formidable lair. This dungeon serves as a crucial test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

Baramos, the primary antagonist of the game's first half, resides within this challenging dungeon. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before attempting this encounter. The lair holds valuable items, detailed in the sections below.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Having completed the Maw of the Necrogond and acquired the Silver Orb, you unlock Ramia. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or Necrogond Shrine to the island north of Necrogond, nestled amidst mountains. This is Baramos's Lair. Ramia will transport you near the entrance.

Navigating Baramos's Lair

Baramos's Lair differs from typical dungeons. Instead of a linear progression, you'll traverse indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Baramos's Lair – Surroundings," serves as a central hub. Below is the optimal route to the boss fight, followed by treasure locations.

Reaching Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Circumvent the castle eastward towards the northeastern pool.
  2. Ascend the stairs to the pool, turn left (west), and climb another stair set. Enter the door on your right.
  3. Navigate the Eastern Tower to its top and exit.
  4. Cross the castle roof southwestward, descend the stairs, proceed west, and pass through the gaps in the northwestern double wall. Use the northwestern stairs.
  5. In the Central Tower, use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified panels and descend the southwestern stairs to B1 Passageway A.
  6. In B1 Passageway A, head east to the easternmost stairs.
  7. Ascend the stairs in the South-East Tower, move northeast to the next stair set, and descend to the western section. Cross the grass northwestward and enter the door.
  8. Exit the small section in the northeastern corner of the Central Tower.
  9. Traverse B1 Passageway B northward and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room, avoiding floor panels, and exit southward.
  11. From the Surroundings map, locate the northeastern structure on the lake island—Baramos's Den, where the boss awaits.
